Elizabeth grew up a working class family in Toronto. She was elected to the City of York Board of Education in 1988 and served as a Trustee for 18 years. She is currently the co-chair of the Canadian Network on Cuba. Elizabeth is outspoken against privitizating health care. “We need to raise corporate taxes and expand Medicare,” she says. “Expand mass transit, eliminate transit fares.”

Elizabeth is a great lover of cats, crafts and community.
