The Communist Party of Canada stands with progressive and democratic voices around the world in condemning the Indian government’s decision to attack the national rights of Jammu and Kashmir, by abrogating its constitutional special status and denying it of its right to Indian statehood. In the process, the reactionary government of Narendra Modi has fanned the flames of ethnic and religious division, regional conflict, and war involving nuclear armed states.

Le Parti communiste du Canada condamne la violence et les meurtres commis par des éléments de l’armée soudanaise contre des manifestants pacifiques au Soudan, et nous demandons au gouvernement fédéral de prendre des mesures concrètes contre l’Arabie saoudite et les autres partisans du régime militaire du Soudan.
Plus de 100 personnes ont été tuées lors des dernières attaques à Khartoum, qui ont commencé le 3 juin lorsque les Forces de soutien rapide liées au Conseil militaire transitoire soudanais ont brutalement débarrassé les manifestants de la zone autour du quartier général des Forces armées soudanaises. De nombreux autres civils ont été blessés ou violés alors que l’armée cherche à écraser complètement le soulèvement populaire qui avait déjà réussi à évincer l’ancien dictateur de longue date du pays.

The Communist Party of Canada condemns the recent assassination of two campesino leaders and members of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV). On Oct. 31 in Nueva Bolivia, Merida State, PCV Central Committee member Luis Fajardo and his brother-in-law, Javier Aldana, were killed by a burst of gunfire from a moving car. Both men had been active in defence of campesino rights, but the authorities ignored the serious threats against Luis Fajardo and his family. Continue reading »
This month marks the 75th anniversary of the turning point of the Second World War – the Battle of Stalingrad. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Canada salutes this historic victory over Hitler fascism by the Soviet Red Army, a victory which was won at such great cost to the people of the Soviet Union.
