More and more clubs are using facebook events to publicize. Keep in mind that Facebook\u00a0is\u00a0still generally a secondary\u00a0way to do publicity. As much as possible, the best way to do publicity is still phone calls, followed up with emails, and\/or other forms of\u00a0reminders if possible like text messages.\u00a0 When time and resources allow, Canada Post mail will help. \u00a0Direct contact, combined with posters, community announcement ads, and other forms of publicity also work well.<\/p>\n
To set-up a facebook event you will need the following information:<\/p>\n

Here are some other ideas that might help:<\/p>\n
While you can make the event in your own name, its better to use or make a facebook page\u00a0for the club<\/span> to create the event, and add yourself as a host. This is easy to do and can be set up in a few minutes. \u00a0(A facebook page for the club is much better than creating a new user profile, because facebook is designed for organizations to use pages and individuals to use profiles).<\/p>\n Once you add yourself as a host, your personal profile can directly message all of the invitees<\/p>\n Here are what some folks are using. If there is a\u00a0Facebook-recognized location for the venue, it is\u00a0preferable than just\u00a0the street address.
