1. ACTING OUTSIDE THE LAW
\nUnder this legislation, CSIS agents will be allowed to act against any perceived \u201cthreat to the security of Canada,\u201d without a judicial warrant if they claim that their activities do not contravene Charter rights or the law.<\/p>\n
2. DISRUPT \u201cRADICAL\u201d WEBSITES
\nCSIS would be permitted to disrupt vaguely defined \u201cradical websites\u201d, and to apply for court orders to remove \u201cterrorist propaganda\u201d from the Internet.<\/p>\n
3. \u201cPREVENTATIVE\u201d ARREST
\nThe Bill lowers the legal threshold to detain people without criminal charges, and expands the reach of the \u201cno-fly list\u201d. CSIS agents will be allowed to break into homes and offices, seize documents, remove whatever they find, install monitoring devices, or carry out \u201cdirty tricks\u201d or disruptive activities a judge agrees is \u201creasonable\u201d.<\/p>\n
4. \u201cBLACK OPERATIONS\u201d
\nSince the government has declared that Canada is at war, there is every reason to believe that any judicial limits on these police powers will be minimal at best, and that these activities will be integrated with the CIA\u2019s \u201cblack operations\u201d around the world.<\/p>\n
5. ZERO PUBLIC CONTROL
\nJust as ominous, there will be no mechanism for Canadians to even monitor CSIS, leaving only the PMO and a tiny clique of powerless and complicit government officials with knowledge of its actions.<\/p>\n
