Press Conference: Communists call to stop the war economy

On July 29 in Ottawa, Communist Party Leader Drew Garvie and National Secretary of the Communist Party of Quebec, Adrien Welsh, held a press conference challenging the federal government’s proposed $150 billion war budget. They articulated the Party’s campaign against the war economy, which argues that this military spending serves weapons manufacturers and banks, not working people in Canada. The Party demanded a reallocation of funds from the war economy to address the urgent crises in housing, healthcare, education, and affordability. Their campaign to send messages to MPs continues.
